Jane’s Addiction

It’s unfor­tu­nate, but we real­ize that the major­ity of you may not be old enough to remem­ber Jane’s Addic­tion dur­ing their “Been Caught Steal­ing” era. That also means you only know Dave Navarro as he is now, with his metic­u­lously groomed beard and goofy real­ity shows. But the truth is, Jane’s Addic­tion has been a really good band for a really long time. We real­ize it’s not for every­body, but if you’re in the mood to get out of the cramped venues and see a big band at a big venue — this is your show.

There are two types of quilt­ing nowa­days: tra­di­tional and exper­i­men­tal. We take a look at an artist doing some of the best exper­i­men­tal quilt­ing in the world, and then show you a local gallery open­ing that brings it back to the roots of tra­di­tional quilting.

Open Air Opening

Cour­t­house Gal­leries joined with area art insti­tu­tions to offer the The Art of Glass II, an out­door sculp­ture exhibit. Artists uti­lized a range of media includ­ing glass, metal, wood, ceramic, and stone. The open­ing recep­tion will be Fri­day, Feb­ru­ary 6th.
