So, we know you’re spend­ing your week prepar­ing for the hur­ri­cane that’s going to be your Hal­loween week­end. Con­sider the Thiev­ery Cor­po­ra­tion show this Wednes­day your calm before the storm.

It seems like the Brav­ery have been off the radar for a lit­tle while, but it turns out they’ve been work­ing hard on a new album that’s get­ting ready to come out in early Novem­ber. They’ve just started a new tour where they’ll be debut­ing new music from the album, and if their past antics are any indi­ca­tion, things could get wild.

There aren’t many bands out there that can claim to be the lat­est “it” band more than Griz­zly Bear. Their lat­est album, “Veck­a­timest,” is much more acces­si­ble than their pre­vi­ous (crit­i­cally acclaimed) albums, but in all the right ways. The har­monies are beau­ti­ful and spacey; the songs sound like they could have been cre­ated in the 1960’s or yesterday.

This isn’t the first time we’ve bypassed the head­lin­ing act in order to give some credit to a lesser known opener. That’s not to say that Islands isn’t well known, or that we could ever really bypass the Psy­che­delic Furs. All we’re say­ing is: show up early to the Norva this Sun­day. You’ll thank us.
