The Flux Capac­ity Art Show, aka the “Mega Hot Vir­gin Prom Night Sac­ri­fice of the Dead” Art Show aims to keep Hal­loween going just a lit­tle longer. With tons of good local artists all under one roof at (where else?) Hells Kitchen, this should be a really cool show.

Art shows are good; art shows with great music and char­ity auc­tions are even bet­ter. So file this week’s Rough Rid­ers show at the Boot in the “Even Bet­ter” cat­e­gory. With nearly twenty artists on show, and great music from Ced Hughes and oth­ers, it’s pretty much guar­an­teed to be a good time.

Before you head out this Fri­day night, why not take a quick stroll through some of the best gal­leries in Down­town Nor­folk and take in a lit­tle cul­ture. Art­Seen is a way for you to see what each gallery is about, all in one night.

If you’ve seen Bran­don Thompson’s work before, then you prob­a­bly know him as the “bent sil­ver­ware guy.” Which is a pretty accu­rate descrip­tion. But in addi­tion to come cool cultlery scup­ture, Thomp­son mixes media to cre­ate art that’s unique and unusual. There will be plenty of brand new works on show, and the artist is promis­ing some “show spe­cials” (what­ever that is) at the one-man show this Fri­day at Walls Gallery.
