If you’ve been on it, you’ve noticed there’s a groundswell of local art tal­ent mak­ing rip­ples through Hamp­ton Roads. You won’t find this Juxtapoz-style, low­brow art in gal­leries — you’ll find it in smokey bars all over town. That is, until now.

New Waves 2009 is a juried show fea­tur­ing Vir­ginia artists who are push­ing bound­aries in their medi­ums. There is some fan­tas­tic work on show from artist such as RJ Clark, Travis Childers, Derek Cote, davmo, Miriam Ellen Ewers, and Peter Geiger, among many, many others.
