If you’re any­thing like us, you might be look­ing for­ward to see­ing 2009 go away. But we’re not going to sit at home idly while Dick Clark sends it off either — we’re going to ring in 2010 in the wildest, most fun way we can find. So here are some of your choices for mak­ing the most of say­ing good­bye to 2009.

If you’re into the music that we fea­ture here on a reg­u­lar basis, we’re sure you’re going to love the Fest that Bar None is putting together this week­end. Lots of our favorite local indie bands (plus some notable out-of-towners) will be play­ing Fri­day and Sat­ur­day, with ten bands in all grac­ing us with ter­rific live shows.

Loose Lips has really turned out to be one of the best par­ties around, and we wouldn’t expect any­thing less this Fri­day at Bar None. The DJ’s are always great, the beer flows like water, and every­one pretty much has an amaz­ing time. What more could you want?

Austin, Texas’s Ringo Death­starr are bring­ing their eclec­tic blend of dis­torted, not-quite-shoegaze, indie rock to Vir­ginia Beach this Fri­day. The songs are short, sweet, blurry, and dreamy. We know, that’s an odd descrip­tion, but trust us — this is the show you want to be at this week.
