We’re always going to cham­pion the idea that weirder is bet­ter. How I Became the Bomb isn’t the weird­est act you’ll ever see, not by a long shot, but they’ve got just the right amount of quirk­i­ness to be really enter­tain­ing. It isn’t just their out­fits either; it’s that they take the 80’s pop sound far­ther than con­tem­po­raries like the Killers or the Brav­ery are will­ing to take it. Every song makes us want to watch a John Hughes movie.

But don’t get us wrong. It’s not a gim­mick or a nov­elty act. The songs are good, and for good mea­sure they give lots of them away for free. The live show is sup­posed to be really sharp, and with videos like this one below we wouldn’t expect any­thing less.
