It’s no secret that there’s no time of year that we here at Boxed City love more than Halloween. It’s the perfect blend of parties, music, and unabashed weirdness that makes going out Halloween weekend our favorite. So without further adieu, here are our favorite options for making the most out of your crazy, creepy weekend.

Friday

Our pick for Friday is out in Chesapeake at Winston’s, where they’re hosting a Halloween Eve Costume Ball. Local favorite the Loomis Fargo Gang will be there, along with the Shakes Electro and the Blue Room Sound. If you’re looking for a great warm-up for your Halloween partying, you can’t go wrong here.

Saturday

In Norfolk, the Boot will be hosting their Halloween Mash, where Super Vacations will bring their psychedelic lo-fi awesomeness. Boxed City favorite Lord Ryan Thomas will be on hand too, so expect your Halloween here to be as retro as you’re going to find.

But, without a doubt, the place you’re most likely to find us showing off our most ridiculous costumes will be at the Jewish Mother for the latest installment of Fantastic Planet. This is notoriously the most raucous of dance parties, and with DJ Wizard and DJ LaBeat spinning it should whip into a beautiful, costumed frenzy. There’s a hefty cash prize for best costume too, but we’re going to win that so you might as well not even bother (just kidding, of course).

Have a great weekend.
